Maria Gillan is an independent photographer & film- maker from the West of Ireland with a passion for using media as a tool to enact social change. She is inspired by the people she meets hailing from all walks of life, and the unique stories they each possess.
After living in South Korea for over four years & travelling much of the world, her passion for photography, volunteering on social justice issues, & cultural exchange came to the fore. This
influenced her to complete her MA in Media Practice for Development and Social Change at the University of Sussex in Brighton.
Alongside her passion for photography & storytelling, she also has a keen interest in music & travelling & takes her camera with her wherever she goes, documenting interesting people or places she meets along the way. If you would like to know more about her projects, clink on the links attached.
